Thrilled to welcome Aleksandra Kolosova to the Simoes Lab as a new PhD student. Her research will aim to uncover whether AML-driven changes in the BMME vary across different subtypes or follow common patterns that could be targeted for treatment. Aleksandra will employ a variety of techniques to study the interactions between AML cells and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), with the goal of identifying pathways that can be therapeutically disrupted to enhance chemotherapy outcomes. Aleksandra recently completed her MSci in Genetics at the University of Swansea, and we are excited to support her as she takes on this important work.
