Aleksandra and Imogen win presentation prize at the Sussex Cancer Research Centre celebration

Congratulations!

Aleksandra Kolosova (PhD student in the Simoes Lab) and Imogen Mould (a PhD student co-supervised by Dr Fabio Simoes and Dr Eleni Ladikou), were awarded the presentation prize at the PHARMAKON exhibition by artist Markus Taylor which was part of the Sussex Cancer Research Centre's (SCRC) annual celebration.

The morning brought researchers, artists and the local community together for a programme of creative cancer-research engagement — alongside the exhibition there were presentations from the SCRC Community Engagement Project and a series of lightning lectures from SCRC scientists, in which Aleksandra and Imogen presented their research.

Their prize recognised the pair for doing the best job of making their science clear, engaging and accessible to a general audience — a reminder that communicating research well is every bit as important as the research itself.

Congratulations to both on a fantastic result, and a great showcase of the lab's commitment to public engagement!
